June News

It's a new month, meaning it's time for a new post! With summer coming on quickly there's a lot to report so let's get to it.
On the gig front June brings a couple of special ones. First up on June 16th I'll be heading down to Lethbridge for the Inshala festival that fellow 709'er Jay Michael and crew work so hard at to put on each year. Not sure the time slot I'll be pushed into, but whatever it is, I'll be bring the best of my stuff after having a pretty magical experience playing there two years ago.
The following Friday that week (June 22nd) rings in the second instalment of Blueprint with fellow resident Nathan Hedley. This guy is bent on putting everything possible into these nights making being involved a true pleasure. Look for a whole bunch of new decor added to Habitat, from big foamy 'B's and cutouts to flying banners. And if the first one was any indication as to how this night will turn out, you might want to turn up a little early.
Beyond that, it's off to Europe on July 1st for a three week trek across France, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy with my amazing wife Sarah who's put in an absolutely pain-staking amount of time to sort out all the details for every day of the trip; I'm pretty sure the Ibiza Spotlight calendar is burnt into her laptop screen by now.
DJ-wise, that week in Ibiza will be one for the ages, with most of my age old favourites that are rarely seen in these parts making an appearance. Digweed, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Sasha and Nick Warren to name a few. Of course, can't go to Ibiza without having one complete trance-out courtesy of Armin, Markus Schulz, Dash Berlin and Cosmic Gate packed into one night. I may age 10 years in this one week alone, but it will be well worth it.
Finally, but most importantly, the plans are in motion for a massive week to celebrate the five year anniversary of my 709Sessions radio show. On September 18th we'll be doing 12 hours on the progressive channel on DI.fm, featuring favourite guests such as Cid Inc., Jason LeMaitre and more, along with a half dozen 709'ers. Then into the weekend on September 22nd, we'll be doing an all 709 all nighter here in Calgary - a classic 200-300 person party put on like only our crew can. Lots of work to be done, but it will be well worth it.
Other than that, things have been quiet on the production front with a million other parts of life getting in the way. However, my "Moments" release should be out on JOOF sometime in the next millennium, aka hopefully this summer.
Looking forward to the next few months to say the least, and hoping to see many faces out in the month of June.
