June 2nd is fast approaching and we are very excited to share what we have planned for our next event: Ecotopia. This event will no longer be an official 3 Ohm gathering, but fear not, many of the elements that have made previous 3 Ohm's so memorable will be still be present!!

Ecotopia will be a Burningman, Camp Ecotopia fund raiser. On the playa later this summer, Camp Ecotopia will be a joining of energies of a number of groups including Moontribe from California and The Oracle Crew from Seattle. The camp will feature a 1000 person tent and sound system, as well as daytime speakers, workshops and a very low to no impact "green" infrastructure. The cost of such an endeavor is over $23,000 USD, so we are eager to help pitch in. DETAILS

Ecotopia will begin with music and activities earlier in day in the field next to the Crescent Heights Community Center, and will be open to families and everyone interested in coming out to enjoy some sunshine and laid back sounds: psydub, idm, down tempo and ambient (think Shambhala Beach Stage)... all the good stuff!! Please note that all daytime activities are free of charge, are subject to weather conditions and all ages are welcome, infact we encourage the young, the old and everyone in between to come out dancing with us!

While the music is playing there will be a few scheduled activities to take note of:

12:12pm - Sun Salutations with Jasmyn
Be part of the sun honoring ritual, where we wake up our bodies, minds and souls.

2:00pm - Blindfold Dance led by Surya
Come and explore the myriad of senses we have outside of the visual world. See the music, listen to your heart, find your movement!

We would like to encourage everyone to bring blankets, hoola hoops, stilts, poi, drums, contact juggling things, slack lines, tutus, and blindfolds for the blindfold dance and anything else that you may want to share with your community.

Aside from all the activities, we would also like to ask everyone to bring something to contribute to the all day picnic table. Please don’t feel obliged to make a feast, just one of your favorite snacks or beverages would be quite nice as we believe that sharing whole natural foods is the main ingredient in building a community. For allergy and special dietary needs please label your dish so that everyone knows what they are getting themselves into. In the spirit of Camp Ecotopia and the philosophy of No-Impact, we ask everyone to bring their own plates, utensils and water bottles.

Moving into the evening, the doors will open at 6:30pm, for an hour of yoga to start at 7pm sharp. During this time, only those wishing to join in the yoga will be allowed to enter the venue. At 8pm the doors will re-open to everyone and the music will begin, continuing through the night until 6am. Sounds will flow from minimal techno through to warmer progressive, up into peak time psy, then back to earth with a closing morning psy journey.

Those of you who are Burningman veterans, we look forward to seeing you in your finest playa duds, and those of you who have not yet been, feel free to raid your tickle trunks and get creative with your evening attire!!!

There are a few things we want to address from the last 3 Ohm gathering, as we are always striving to improve:

• Sound was a little quiet at the last event due to technical issues with our equipment. We plan to have this solved, but we do have to be respectful of the surrounding community and are in fact limited to just how loud we can go.
• We would like to strongly encourage people to party responsibly, and to keep a close eye on friends. If you do not feel you can do so then we must ask that you not attend. Illegal drugs and alcohol are not permitted whatsoever.

We invite you to come out and enjoy a full day and night of really great music and great people. Feel free to spread the word to those you think would enjoy being a part of this event and our growing community!
