ABOUT SOLDIERS OF THE UNDERGROUND
Concieved by Phoenix Olivia originally as an events organization in Vancouver, Soldiers of the Underground soon represented all the individuals in the underground dance culture that had a true love for the scene and supported it, and now has evolved into a record label, Soldiers of the Underground Records. Last year, under the label, Phoenix Olivia released compilation "Passion" which featured West Coast producers like Noah Pred, Jacob Cino, Osiris Indriya and Damon Shea. For more information about the Soldiers of the Underground, please visit www.soldiermusic.ca.
ABOUT AREA709
Vaguely originating in 2001 from an apartment complex in downtown Calgary, Area709 was truly born from a collaboration between Wes Straub, Darvin Knorr and Jay Michael, along with a small, experimental website that allowed djs to post mixes and dj news, to push their talents out further. Fast forward to 2007 and Area709 has become a major organization in North America with a talented and growing roster of djs and producers from Canada down to Mexico. In the past three years, the group has thrown various events large and small in Calgary and is now pursuing opportunities in cities like Vancouver. The Area709 website--the core of Area709's existence--will be launching it's second version on April 15th, 2007 and is positioned to be one of premier electronica sites in the world; accompanied by an online radio station that is now broadcasting globally.
DJS
Phoenix Olivia
(Soldiers of the Underground, Area709)
Progressive House

Besides being the mastermind behind Soldiers of the Underground, Phoenix has played countless shows and every major nightclub in Vancouver. She has played in Central, Eastern and Western Canada, and some of the West Coast United States. Dubbed the Progressive Queen of Vancouver, Phoenix has made a noticable mark in the dance movement of the North American West Coast. Apart from being a skillful dj, Phoenix is one of the hardest working event promoters in Vancouver. Under her production company Soldiers of the Underground, Phoenix has showcased artists such as San Fransisco's Bluetech, Adham Shaikh, Noah Pred, Kevin Shiu, Cary Chang, and Seattle's Osiris Indriya. In January 2005 Phoenix officially launched her own record label Soldiers of the Underground Records and released its first compilation PASSION, featuring tracks from West Coast artists/producers such as Jacob Cino, Noah Pred and Damon Shea. With her extraordinary stage presence and cutting edge track selection she electrifies the dancefloor without fail. Her style is often compared to Sasha and James Holden with it's dark, hypnotic flow of deep dark chugging progressive and progressive breaks. Phoenix Olivia is currently in her studio working on her debut album. Her vision for this year is to produce more and expose her music to Europe and Asia, while continuing to throw events that showcase the best of the Progressive Movement.

Wes has developed into one of Alberta's brightest up and coming progressive djs. Besides playing various events in Calgary and holding down his extremely successful Pure.Prog monthly residency at the Amsterdam Rhino (in Calgary), he has also fostered an international following through online radio and with subsequent bookings in Ibiza, Mexico and at Shambhala in 2006. Wes's sound has grown from early trance influences into a rich and diverse blend of deep progressive trance; often difficult to categorize and unique in the way it's mixed. Wes is also the original founder of Area709, a collective of ambitious djs, producers and artists from around North America, using the web to push themselves further. This group has rapidly become a household name synonymous with high quality progressive music.
