On March 29th Area709 presents the Sero[tones] production of tech-progressive/psytrance producer Shadow FX (Zenon Records, Australia)

SHADOW FX (Zenon Records, Australia) - Live Set! (progressive psytrance)

Shadow Fx was created in 2002 by 26 year old James Hays from Melbourne, Australia. James started his musical career studying and playing drums and guitar in high school. Then at the age of seventeen he discovered psytrance in and around the famous trance hotspot of Byron Bay. After listening to and Dj'ing the music for several years, he decided to move to Melbourne and make a serious effort to put his own mark on the scene. He bought a computer and started to produce full time, leading him to the smooth and refined sound for which he is known today. In recent years he has played at many parties all over Australia including Rainbow Serpent, Earthdance and Audiogasm. He has also released compilation tracks on ZMA and Zenon, plus on Cosmic Conspiracy records with his brother Tetrameth. Shadow Fx has created a smooth blend of deep, funky, morning progressive that is distinctively shaped from the Zenon sound. In 2007 he released his debut album Direct Influence on Zenon.

From his university days of ice-climbing, white water raft guiding and mountain bike racing to his more recent involvement in the Canadian electronica community as a dj, a promoter, and budding producer DJ Nokturnal (Darvin Knorr) has never been one to do something half-way. Ten years of performing at some of the largest gatherings across North America have recently led him to commit his Nokturnal incarnation to the Zenon sound: smooth, intelligent and most definitely nothing but psytrance. Darvin is also the author of the Canada page of the 2008 Trancer's Guide to the Galaxy, has a top ten psygressive chart regularly featured on Beatport.com, is the BOOM festival Ambassador to Canada, is a co-founder of http://www.area709.com/ and is soon to release a double cd dj mix/compilation on Zenon Records.



MYTHRIL (Deliria, Vancouver) - Dj set (smooth morning progressive/psy, downtempo)

Mythril is known for his deep morning sets with uplifting melodic
messages and thumping, groovy basslines, graceful launches and gentle
landings. His versatility ranges from full-on and progressive
psychedelic trance (saiko, not psycho), to breakbeats, asian remix, psy
dub and mid-downtempo that you can dance to.
Ian Tomas has been a multi-instrumentalist since 1987 involved in live
projects in Toronto, Montreal & Vancouver of diverse genres. In 1998 he
started djing in the west coast's electronic underground and open air
festivals.

Jay Micheal - One of the founding members of Area709 from Calgary Jay Michaels diverse sounds have been heard consistently at many events and festivals across western Canada and the United states over the last 5 years. Jay Michael has played at Diversity, Motion Notion, Shambhala, Oracle, Entheos, Emrgnsee, Earthdance, Greenmoon and many many more.
Also founding Ionic Productions last year Jay Michael has produced the events Alliance with Soldiers of the Underground
and the sold out event Ecliptic featuring Australia's psytrance master Sensient of Zenon records.
