Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!! So many thanks to everyone who came out to support the Vibrasphere show on friday. You guys are seriously all so amazing! It's lots of hard work putting something like this together... and not to mention a bit scary! It takes a big leap of faith to put out thousands of dollars to secure an artist like this and to not really know if you will get it back. When the doors opened we were sold out, and everyone was paid it full.... I cant explain how awesome it feels to get all that out of the way and to be able to just arrive and say "lets have some fun!"
This is an amazing community, Rickard passes on his gratitude for making his first trip to Calgary a memorable one. He was very impressed with the good nature and positive vibes everyone displayed on Friday night. I am honored to be involved with this community... And with your continued support I can guarantee there will be many more special nights like this to come in the future. Ive added a ton of photo's from the night into my gallery. If any of you have pictures or video from the night please post them to our facebook page... I would love to see them!
I would also like to let you know about another exciting show coming towards the end of April. We will be hosting Liquid Stranger from Interchill Records. I met Martin last summer at the Diversity festival on Texada Island off the Coast of British Columbia. I was sooo impressed with his music that when I heard he was touring around the states I jumped on the opportunity to bring him here to Calgary. Growing up in Sweden Martin was surrounded by the minimal psychedelic trance sounds that us Calgarians have always loved. Really the only way I can describe his music is minimal psychedelic breaks, ranging from dubbed out reggea to cutting edge dubstep. Its highly danceable and definetely psychedelic. If you put a 4/4 kick drum in there you would have something the likes of Atmos or Shadow fx.... but he does it all will broken beats... big fat grimmy broken beats. This will be a bit of a step in a new direction for an Area709 party... but trust me this guy rocks. I really hope to see you there, you wont be disappointed.
