La Folia was invited to add a project to Kickstarter. Kickstarter is a new funding platform for artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians, journalists, inventors, and explorers. After raising financing from family and friends, including the comedian David Cross and the Pitchfork Music publisher Chris Kaskie, Kickstarter introduced its platform in April.

Hello Friends and Supporters,

I started a record label two years ago to support creative electronic music and visual artists. It was a labor of love project to not only release my own music, but the unique music of other artists. We support quality, free-thinking, original and unique music and art. As a DJ and producer for over a decade I've had an unwavering passion for electronic music, and art, and been inspired to share the beauty of creation in these two mediums with others. The label has grown and we are blessed to have very talented artists from around the world releasing with us.

Our next three amazing releases need funding for PR, money to pay the wonderful artists that design our artwork, remixer fees, and production budgets. Our minimum funding requirement is the amount of our funding goal. However, we would really like to see the next release by An On Bast in limited edition vinyl pressing, with a full color sleeve and we need an additional $2500 above our goal to fund it. We are a conscious family of artists, we are looking at eco-friendly pressing plants and materials to produce these. The more you give, the more we can do, and we certainly have plenty of additional ideas and stories to share. 15% of all net label proceeds in 2010 to be given back to a charity of the highest pledgers choosing.

By funding our label, and helping our releases to get the PR they need to get heard, you will be helping us put great music out into the world, and helping us give back to the world community by allowing us to donate to charity.

The beginning of 2009 I have concentrated on my label, La Folia Recordings and my upcoming music releases that are slated to begin in early summer. 

We have signed on some amazing artists to La Folia. Mathew Lewtwyler, of Traum, Caravan, and Perspective, and An On Bast and Clara Moto, who both participated in the 2006 Red Bull Music Academy are joining the artists ranks and have some amazing releases slated.

In addition, La Folia will be introducing itself as a limited run vinyl label, while continuing a focus on digital releases.

The label has taken a bit of a turn, and our visual presence is becoming as important as our musical one. Visual artists from the US, and Europe have designed covers and videos which we cant wait to share with everyone! We are all colors, emotions, and stories.
