I'm brand new to the site and the community, and I'm browsing and learning about you, enjoying the tunes and thoughts here. And I've got a small question, in some of the DJs music listings, from 2005, I see the title "Upplysa". Since I'm from Sweden, and that word translates exactly to swedish, meaning "Enlighten", I got curiuos. Is it just a coincidence, or is the naming linked somehow to Scandinavia? What is/was "Upplysa"? Anyone? :-)

Ha!! That's awesome. Upplysa was an event we put on here in Calgary in 2005, featuring Martin from Beat Bizarre. Going on the whole Scandinavian theme we decided to call it Upplysa because it had to do with enlightenment. Whether anyone walked away enlightened after is another story!!! It was a pretty awesome event though! Current Residencies:

BTW Wes, the way I found this site was from listening to XTC Radio och iTunes, hearing you tune "Sinister". It caught my attention, I googled it, found you, found Area709 and hey.. here I am!

We used to have a bunch of really great photos of Upplysa up on the old version of the site, Wes, when are they going to go back up? Hmmmm?
