Details
As we move into the summer outdoor music festival season, we are very pleased to bring you news of Beheshto's 7th year celebration, guiding you to consciousness with music, dance and workshops in the beautiful BC wilderness. As always, we focus our events around a specific theme related to the great mystical tradition of the Sufi. This year's theme is Malakut - Kingdom of Heaven... The stage when the characteristics of the species and their individuals descend from the Realm of Omnipotency, separate consciousnesses comes into being. It is a timeless state into which the soul passes to eternity and becomes eternal.
We invite you to join us in our quest for truth and understanding in our new "top secret" location in the magical coastal mountains. for the opening circle at 6pm, as we set our intentions for the magical journey to follow. Please come prepared with camping gear, flashlight, food, water, garbage bags, costumes, sarongs, tarps, banners, basic necessities and your glowing smile. We are all responsible for this beautiful natural setting. Pack it in, Pack it OUT! Your camp should be left better than you found it. Thank you for being a part of this magical gathering and sharing in community.

Sufik :: Beheshto
I was born on August 5, 1978 in Tehran, Iran, a city where you can find any kind of music in the underground market. I always loved music and got into it when I was a little kid. I have listened to many different genres and artists and found each of them unique for their own time and place. To me music is a medium of expression and a way to let out my emotions and thoughts in order to transform. I got into Electronic music around 1997 and decided to mix later on. At first I was more into Techno and Progressive Trance and later on started playing Deep Progressive House. I feel that my style becomes subtler as I go along this path and I like the change since it has to do with my state of mind. The mystical sound of eastern music is very mesmerizing to me, especially the sound of Persian & Indian instruments and I would like to develop a style, which is a combination of eastern sounds with deep progressive beats. The mystery and the drums will resolve the past.
nemo :: Ducky | Beheshto
Petr didn't realize that his discovery of electronic music at a small underground party in early 1997 would be life altering. After finding the medium of vinyl to be the best source of electronic music, and listening to it mixed seemed only logical, he learned how to spin.
Wanting to share his music, Petr began to spin at parties, playing mostly UK hard house and then moving into dark tech trance. After almost 2 years of spinning he fell in love with techno, and has played a variety from hard to tribal for the last 4 years. Now inspired by rich, funky and techy sounds, he exposes listeners to minimal techno/house with influences coming from Detroit and Berlin.
Khan :: Beheshto | Area709
Using his love of music to inspire and feed the flames of consciousness in the dance community, Khan is on a constant journey of growth and discovery, doing his small part to help as many souls as possible on their journey to higher realms. Inspired by progressive music pioneers John Digweed and James Holden, he has been exploring a range of musical flavors over the past 7 years, ranging from progressive to hard trance and progressive house. His sets take dancers on a journey through mythic landscapes, richly textured with deep, dark grooves , tribal rhythms, and lush, beautiful progressive tracks. Hailing from the beautiful city of vancouver on Canada's westcoast, a veteran of the outdoor festival and rave scene, Khan's infectious spirit is sure to give rise to some serious magic on the dance floor and beyond.
DJ Beat Junkie featuring Harostraight :: B.B.I. | Dubhouse | 4TM :: Duncan
Nick found the electronic music scene in 1989 & fell in love with the music right away. Back in the day it was all about getting your dance on, which lead him on to teaching break dancing through out the late 90's. In 1995 he started playing techno & house for house parties (all with 2 home CD players with no pitch control) but in 1997 he found D'n'B & made the switch to vinyl & at that point he became the Beat Junky that you all know today. The whole time the Beat has been a DJ his top priority has been his daughter & from 2002 he became a single parent so he has been very limited with his time & money, but that did not stop him from opening for DJ Raw, emptying the Dirt Crews dance floor & playing in almost every community on the island. He also loves to experiment with different mediums from Live Violin to Digderidoo's & a Turntablist which can create another unique sound to the music. Emma aka Harostraight has been playing the violin since the age of 7 and is now experimenting with electronic violin for the first time. She has a BMUSC from Queen's University and is presently Concert Master of the Cowichan Consort Orchestra. This is the greatest challenge she has had to face musically as there is no notation to follow and all must be done by ear. Love of this and all music is what the Emma and Nick thrive on, as well as: good vibes, good people & the energetic crowds that this genre of sound may create. We would like to thank all the people who have made this such a positive experience so far! Respect to all promoters; DJ's; and DANCERS for without you this would not be possible!

Azad :: Blueprint
Although new to the Vancouver scene in 2007, Azad is anything but a rookie when it comes to music. Azad has been an avid piano player since the young age of 7, and began composing music at the age of 13. It is no suprise that given his deep understanding of music that Azad's styles are quite diverse, spinning tunes based on his environment, he has been heard playing genres ranging from minimal techno to electro house. Azad maintains a residency at Gorg-o-Mish, as well as other regular appearances throughout the city. When not spinning, Azad continues to deepen his knowledge of music through his studies of soudns engineeering and sound set-up.
Chris Singer :: Soundproof | Beheshto
Bobby Blend :: Fresca Mutual Sound :: LA, California
Bobby Blend's career began in 1991 with a great appreciation for music and the joy of making friends feel good through the combinations of songs on tape. He loved to see the smiles on their faces as they recalled memories brought by a familiar song; directing their emotions,thoughts,and feelings."It's the same enjoiment brought on when spinning at a party, seeing hundreds or thousands of people move to the sounds you are creating". With his superb mixing skills he began touring and mixing all over the globe, Spain, Mexico, Seattle, Pheonix, New Orleans, NewYork, Miami, Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Mojave desert( Moontribe collective parties,Morning Star parties,Higher Ground parties), just to name a few. Sharring the stage with top artists like kimball Collins,Jt.Donoldson,Andrew Macari, superstar dj.Keoki,Sharam jey, Haktan O'nal, Jess, Timo Maas, Behrouz, Andy Caldwell, Inland Knights ,Fred Everything, dj. Heather, John Kelly ,DJ.Treavor ,Dj Daniel ,and many more. With releases with such labels like Fresca Recordings and Indeck-s Records. As a Persian descent he is a very proud Persian-American,very sad however,about the current state of the world. "No one is thinking about the repercussions." Hopefully through the intercultural exchange that the electronic music scene has to offer more and more people can move towards progression. Music is capable of transcending language,skin color,and religious belief. It penetrates to the very basis of human behavior,allowing bodies to move involuntarily,getting lost in the sounds and rhythms of nature. As for Bobby Blend,he is already living his dream as a DJ and producer of electronic music. From this point on it's just a matter of reaching as many people as possible with the message of peace, harmony and inter-relation through music. Keeping the free spirited community alive and very much active throughout the world, bridging as many gaps as possible in order to bring us all to a greater understanding of our existence, and value of life.

Steven Chapman :: Beheshto
Born Steven Chapman in Kelowna B.C. "Chaps" or sometimes referred to as "Nucleus" when producing or dj'ing hardcore techno. Chaps began dj'ing in late 1998 and has played the gambit of parties up and down the lower mainland and interior of British Columbia. Beginning with a love for hardcore gabber techno and donning the moniker "Nucleus" , he produced parties as well as dj'd in the fledgling local hardcore scene. Soon though the production bug of another kind was biting and Nucleus produced several tracks which showed his love for additional styles of electronic music. This diverse love of techno is most of its forms naturally led Steve to try his hand at dj'ing different types of music. Namely House and Techno. This is where Steve stands now, nearly finished his school at BCIT and focusing his little remaining time towards House and Techno and sporting a new dj name to represent his change of styles.
