It's a good thing I can laugh

Alright, after several OS crashes, my desktop has finally bit the dust. I will end up replacing the fried motherboard with something comparable, and the machine will then function as a network hub/download beast. I have actually purchased the replacement already, and have decided to go with a laptop. This is for several reasons.
1. With the Arrandale line of Intel processors being made available in laptops in 2010, you do not have to sacrifice power over portability.
2. I was going to get a laptop anyways for live performance.
3. I want to look cool sitting at internet cafes writing my latest beats. Kidding, of course ;)
Let's just say thank goodness for data retrieval services! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the laptop this week, as I have been sans creative outlet for too long, and I am bursting with ideas.
I have also started going for 'sample walks' with my Zoom H4. I am very keen on building my own library of samples, raw and processed, for future use in productions. I am leaning towards uploading a month's worth of samples in the near future under the Creative Commons Liscence so that anyone can feel free to use them as well. This is a great way to keep my stuff original, keep in shape, and spend time with my wife (it was her idea to go out taking pictures with her Nikon, and I'm basically tagging along).
What a start to the new year!
