Bio
Music to me is a language, a mode of communication to share the complexities and simplicities of the human experience. What can be expressed through music is without limitation and has no end of possibilities. How amazing, that one can create a piece of music with certain feelings/thoughts attached to that creation, and that every person who listens to that music will have their own unique experience with it. "This music makes me feel (insert emotion) and makes me want to move my body like (insert movement), and that music reminds me of (insert memory)." Such an incredible diversity of how we can interact with music, and why I love it so much.
Music is my main creative outlet and my driving force in life. Since I was 5 years old I've been listening to music non-stop, whether I have headphones glued to my ears or my stereo is cranked, music is the water I drink to remain hydrated. At the age of 10 I picked up the guitar, it quickly became my love to the point where I would do nothing but play guitar all the time. Folk and alternative music has provided me my musical roots and inspirations, with the electronic side of things being fairly new to me. Before I had ever listened to any electronic music, I was always fascinated by creating ambient textures and melodies using my guitar coloured with a multitude of effects. It was a very natural transition for me when I started getting introduced to ambient and down tempo sounds of varying types. It was really exciting at the time, the electronic music portrayed worlds that I had never encountered before, my mind brought me on journeys I had never previously imagined. Only a few months after really getting into those sorts of sounds and building my own ambient collection, I was experimenting with weaving and blending them all together as if to tell musical stories.
Over the past 3 years I've played different styles, from psy ethno dub to atmospheric soundscapes to IDM which is what I mostly focus on currently. In these varying styles, the music has always been ambient and gentle on the ears and heart, and I have always put a strong emphasis on what I feel to be beautiful sounds. I find something very intriguing about melodies and textures that invoke a sense of elation and beauty that warm your heart when you hear them, mixed together with glitches/cracks/static/pops, seemingly unappealing sounds constructed in beautiful ways. I would describe myself as a strong mental energy, often engrossed in the complexities of my own mind. IDM music illuminates my mind and awakens my senses to a strong sense of familiarity. A web of microscopic glitches woven together with rich melodies, traveling through worlds of dark and light, and a never ending curiosity.
