Seven Restolounge is, as the name suggests, a unique hybrid of restaurant and lounge. As Calgary’s newest see-and-be-seen nightlife hotspot, Seven combines an upstairs restaurant with a sprawling downstairs lounge complete with outdoor patio, an expansive and well-stocked bar, numerous private rooms, a fully stereo nightclub sound system, with seating for 100+ and dancing room aplenty. No wonder the critics are raving - as Calgary’s Fixxmag puts it, Seven has “all the class, elegance and sophistication a Calgary restaurant can afford, minus the pretense”, while FFWD Magazine says that “the food at Seven is exceptional,” with “a clientele as eclectic as the space.”

From its multi-million dollar décor and sexy and sophisticated clientele and staff to its world-class eats and beats, Seven provides the complete package, whether you’re a jet-setter visiting town or a Calgarian with a taste for the finer things. Expertly staffed by a hand-picked assortment of some of Calgary’s most competent and engaging bartenders, the bar is home to a dizzying array of custom cocktails and martinis and an extensive by-the-glass and bottled wine list.

On Saturday nights, music is provided by Area709's own Matthew Belleghem. Matthew, who by day is the dance music editor for BeatRoute Magazine, brings to Seven his own unique blend of retro-tinged progressive house. During his four hour sets he touches on the best underground beats of the past thirty years - from Chicane to Cicada to Chris Lake, Depeche Mode to Deep Dish to Donna Summers, and all points in between, with plenty of his own exclusive edits, mashups and remixes that you won't hear anywhere else.

Platinum Saturdays are Seven's flagship evening, kicking off with a live jazz band inside from 8PM-10PM, with full red carpet outside, bottle service inside, and top quality tunes from 10PM until 2AM. Get there early (reservations best made well in advance) as seating is often completely booked by the time the DJ takes the controls.

Seven is open for dinner from 5PM, and the kitchen stays open with full menu until midnight. Matthew's sets start with deep and groovy upfront deep house at 10PM, kicking it through till 2AM with the finest tunes of the global nightclub scene - so regardless of whether you’re looking to kick back with a late-night cocktail or hit up the dancefloor for some of the newest sounds of the underground, Seven is the place to be.
